Day-after shoot in San Francisco
It was a windy, and wintery day when we met Hannah and Tice on the beach in San Francisco to do their session. I'd known Hannah from when we were both in our early teens, so it was great to reconnect and introduce our husbands. We had so much fun catching up and trying to keep from getting too wet! As someone living in Idaho, I'm always thrilled when I get to travel to the ocean for a shoot.
These two got dressed back up in their wedding clothes for some fun photos on the beach. So why choose to do a day-after shoot? One reason to do a day-after is you get to pick a different location. When my husband and I got married, we chose a venue in Idaho because it would have been hard to ask all of our friends to travel to the beach with us. However, doing a day-after shoot gave us a chance to get wedding photos on the beach.
Another reason to do a day-after shoot is maybe you just want to spend more time enjoying your party, and not have to step away for your couple's shoot on your wedding day. Or maybe you are worried about being really stressed, and you'd rather have your couple photos done on a different day. Or maybe you want to jump in the water during the session. At a day-after shoot, you can totally be super adventurous and don't have to worry about having a wet dress during your reception. Or maybe your favorite photographer is just a little too pricy to cover your whole wedding day, however their day-after session fits in your budget.
Also, just because it's a day-after doesn't mean you have to schedule it on the day after. Feel free to enjoy the honeymoon first if you want!
